High Praise for Abbie Gardner...

"Not only a first-rate Dobro player, but a songwriter to be reckoned with."
-John Platt, WFUV

"Abbie Gardner shows her prodigious writing chops in her album, Hope. Tales of love and loss, both gritty and sweet, ride the back of her by-now familiar, formidable slide guitar licks. She channels Lucinda and Bonnie, but remains pure Abbie."
- Richard Cuccaro, Publisher, Acoustic Live
Join us for an afternoon songwriting workshop full of playful techniques to stimulate your creative side! Abbie will lead this small group through a series of writing exercises exploring melody, rhyme, rhythm and repetition. You'll leave with lots of new song ideas, so please bring paper/pen and a recording device to capture them! Also helpful is an instrument, if you play one (you'll be fine without one too). This class will be useful to new songwriters, those who've been writing for awhile and even professionals looking to generate a crop of new ideas!

Abbie has has written and co-written Folk, Blues, Jazz and Americana songs for over 20 years. Her writing has won the John Lennon Songwriting Contest, American Songwriter Magazine's Grand Prize, and the Great American Song Contest (runner up, but it's all good!). She has taught songwriting at The Swannanoa Gathering, Tribes Hill, Summer Songs, and Ellis Paul's New England Songwriting Retreat. Encouraging other people's creativity is something that fires her up and brightens her smile.

Note: Limited to 20 people
